ARTIST STATEMENT
I make work that is to be used -
My pots are made using the wheel, and I apply simple glazes made with iron and copper
to provide colour on rich stoneware and porcelain clays. My work is influenced by
the traditions of English and French country pottery, with a hint of the ceremonial
and functional pots of South-
I fire with flames, because, for me, the transformation through fire is a vital part of the process, an alchemical transmutation of base materials into something precious.
