ARTIST STATEMENT

My pieces are the product of contemplative and creative moments that celebrate ancient ceramic traditions and juxtapose them with modern interpretations. Each piece represents a moment, suspended for eternity. We experience life through duality, but in truth, everything exists in unity; there is only the moment.

My work reflects through the use of simple forms and surface decoration the love I have of clay. Clay has memory, I touch the clay in a gentle and focused way, hoping to capture qualities which will remain.

We exist within the boundaries of time and space. One moment being interwoven into the next and each one of my forms invites its viewer to engage for just one of these moments.
